Frequently Asked Questions

Yes you may pay for your membership/registration purchase with a check. You will be prompted to select Send a Check when moving through the membership application process. Once you complete your order, you will receive an invoice via email to the address you used when purchasing your membership/registration. The address indicating where to mail your check will be included on that invoice.

All JEN members can now send private messages within the site to each other.

To use this feature, just click on the Messages link located on the right sidebar of this screen. This will take you to the Private Messaging Center. Once you arrive there, simply click the Write a New Message tab to begin sending a message to another JEN member or group of members. When you begin to type a member's name, this area should auto-populate if that name matches the username on the members profile. If it does not match, it will not auto-populate and you need to know the username for that individual.

You can search for a member's username by using the search feature titled Search JEN Members located in the same area. You can then cut and paste that information into the Messages link as necessary to send your message.

If you receive a message from another member you will see a large, red rectangle at the top of the page when you log in to the site. This box will remain there until you acknowledge the message by reading it.

After reading this answer, scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see the words "Who's online".  Below that heading you will see how many registered users and guests are online at that very moment.  Registered users will have their username displayed in red.  You can visit that member's page by clicking on their name.

Some of our members use something other than their first and last name as a username, which will prohibit you from knowing who they really are unless you visit their personal page through the Search JEN Members tab located in the right side bar of this screen.

If your membership is current, to find out when your JEN Membership will lapse, log into the JEN Website and look in the top right corner of the homepage.  There is text in white letting that tells you when your membership will lapse.

If your membership has lapsed and/or you are not a current member of JEN, you cannot log into the website. Simply click a membership category appropriate to how you wish to join the organization under the JOIN button to begin or renew your networking opportunities.

It is highly recommended that you purchase another year's membership prior to the date your current membership expires.

To complete your membership or conference registration by using a Purchase Order, please select the Purchase Order payment option during the check out process on the JEN website.  You will receive an invoice via the email system to the address you used to make the purchase upon clicking Submit. Your membership will become active once payment is received in full by the JEN membership manager.

To renew your membership, simply select the appropriate membership category under the JOIN button, and follow the prompts to purchase a new membership all the way through checkout.  Whether you are a new member to JEN or attempting to renew your old membership, it is not necessary to be logged in to successfully make your purchase. IN fact, if your membership has expired, you will not be able to log in to the website and should not attempt to do so prior to purchasing a new membership on the site.

If you have an interesting announcement to submit for the Networthy News section of JAZZed Magazine, simply email it to networthynews@JazzEdNet.org so it may be considered for publication.

If you know your membership is current and your password simply does not work for you, or you cannot remember it, getting a new password is very easy.  Click on the Request a New Password which is located in the right sidebar area of the screen below the Login area.  Once you receive your new password to your email address on record, attempt to log in. Should you continue to have issues, notify the JEN Office Manager, via the Contact JEN button on the left sidebar of the screen or at the telephone number listed in the same area.

Yes you can! We have launched our 12-17 category as of February 18, 2010. After becoming a member of JEN in this category, your son or daughter would be able to attend the conference at a SPECIAL Student Registration rate of $35 if accompanied by a chaperone over 18 (documentation required). Please visit Conference Central for details related to the Student Rate for Registration.

If your credit card is being declined, it is generally due to an AVS mismatch between the information on file at your bank and the information you have entered in the billing information area.  Billing information must match the information on file with the bank that issued your credit card exactly in order to be accepted. If your credit card is declined by the bank that issued the card, we are not able to override the decision to decline your card.

You may use any credit card you choose. However, please be certain the information in the billing area of your order matches the information on file with the bank that issued your card. This information must match exactly or your bank will decline the use of the card resulting in an AVS mismatch.

Checks should be mailed to the Jazz Education Network, Attn: Dr. Lou Fischer, 5940 Carnegie Cove Court, Columbus, OH 43213
