Web Intern Position
Mission:
The Jazz Education Network is dedicated to building the jazz arts community by advancing education, promoting performance, and developing new audiences.
Description:
The Jazz Education Network (JEN) is seeking a mature, reliable Web Intern for its 2012/ 2013 season. Successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn more about what goes on behind the scenes at a major non-profit music organization and gain valuable, practical skills in website design and maintenance. The Web Intern works closely with the President, Webmaster, Office Manager, and chair of the JEN Marketing & Communications Committee, Marina Terteryan, located in Van Nuys, CA.
Responsibilities:
The Web Intern will be responsible for a variety of website content updates including:
- Updating pages for the annual conference
- Updating pages and posting files for the JEN committees
- Updating other pages as requested by JEN
- Posting content to the JEN social media sites of YouTube, Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated advanced skills with computers and technology, analytical, and organizational skill; impeccable attention to detail; positive energy and a willingness to pitch in and be a team player wherever needed. The position requires flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast‐paced environment. Preferred, but not required, attributes including an interest in jazz music and the performing arts.
Dates: Internships may start as early as May 1, 2012, flexible entrance date
Times: Weekly commitment of 20 hours
