Scholarship and Awards Committee: Mary Jo Papich and Bob Sinicrope - Co-Chairs, and Monika Herzig.

CHARGE: This committee is responsible for overseeing develop of criteria related to all awards and scholarships. This committee coordinates the creation of JEN Clinician & Performer Certificates and JEN Scholarships prior to/at the conference in tandem with the Conference Office Coordinator. They chairs work closely with the scheduler to decide when and where scholarships are awarded.  This committee includes the following sub committees:

• John LaPorta Award (Outstanding Jazz Educator) Sub Committee

CHARGE: To formalize the criteria in tandem with the JEN representative from the Berklee School of Music related to this award. To review all applicants as submitted through the appropriate submission channels and to determine the award recipient each year.

• JEN Student Composition Showcase Sub Committee: Paris Rutherford-chair, Ruben Alvarez, John Clayton, Dave Fodor, and Dan Gregerman.

CHARGE: TO develop a Student Composition Showcase Project for the annual conference, including criteria for eligibility, age groupings, and the like; to organize a review committee and to distribute the application information as appropriate to those individuals; the Chair will coordinate a slot with the Conference Coordinator for review of selected applications at the conference.

Note: The review committees for each category are subject to change each year with assignment to the various committees based on availability and need related to the type of submissions received. The individual names of the members of JEN review committees are not published to maintain their anonymity.
