Congratulations to the newly elected Board of Directors of the Jazz Education Network:

Officers of JEN will be elected soon and ratified at the summer board meeting to take place August 3-6, 2009 in Columbus, Ohio. An announcement will be forthcoming to the membership at that time.The new Board of Directors will begin service on July 1st, 2009. Thanks to all of you who voted in this first election.

Dear Members of JEN,

"On April 1 the Executive Committee unaninmously elected to cancel the upcoming Nashville In Service (to be held concurrently with NAMM July) due to continued low participation numbers. As a committee with a fiduciary responsibility to the membership, we realize the nation is in an economic struggle at present and this situation is indeed taking its toll on conferences nationwide. Rest assured JEN is not alone.
