Terra Harp Ensemble Summer Concerts



The Terra Harp Ensemble, under the direction of renowned harpist Karen Westgate, features its summer concerts on Aug. 6 and 8.  This unique performance ensemble is comprised of both student and community harpists and performs a variety of musical styles arranged for harp.  



The Terra Harp Ensemble concert on Aug. 6 is at the Riverfront Live Series in Port Clinton, located at the North Jefferson Street Pier Pavilion from 6:30 – 8 p.m. This outside concert is open to public.



The second summer performance is “Harps for Hunger” on Sunday, Aug. 8, at the Huron Presbyterian Church in Huron. Admission for this concert is a donation of food items to be given to the local food bank.



Westgate, the director of the Terra Harp Ensemble and harp instructor at Terra Community College, has produced seven harp recordings which are distributed internationally through her company, Harpgate Music Productions. Her distributing enterprise has grown to include recordings by other instrumental music artists along with gift items. She is associated with New Day Christian Distributors, Inc., Henderson, Tenn. and is under contract with several catalogues to sell her recordings.



She has performed throughout the country and has been a keynote speaker for many Christian conferences. Her music is on the play list of a nationally syndicated radio program. She is currently the Musical Director/Pianist for Christ Lutheran Church in Sandusky, and a freelance harpist. She is a member of the Erie County Chamber of Commerce, The American Harp Society and The Northwest Ohio Harp Society.
